Climate Change and Carbon Emissions

As a global business, we recognize the role we can play in helping to combat climate change. We are committed to taking significant steps forward to measure and make reductions on the emissions stemming from our operations (Scope 1 and Scope 2) and within our entire value chain (Scope 3).

Science-Based Emission Reduction Targets

In July 2025, we had our near-term science-based greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Bath & Body Works commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 63% by 2035 from a 2022 base year. Bath & Body Works also commits to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions 63% within the same timeframe.

These new near-term science-based GHG emissions reduction targets will replace the emissions targets we previously set. To learn more about our climate change journey, please visit our most recent Sustainability & Impact Reports.

With an understanding that climate and nature are deeply interconnected, we are advancing our science‑based targets to reduce our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions while integrating climate impacts and opportunities into relevant business decisions.

Scope 1 and Scope 2 Emissions

While our Scope 1 and 2 emissions are a small portion of our carbon footprint, we are committed to achieving emissions reductions in activities that fall within the realm of our direct control.

Scope 3 Emissions

Scope 3 emissions represent the greatest opportunity to reduce our carbon footprint. Within Scope 3, we are exploring opportunities in our biggest impact categories covered by our science-based target.
