Anita Walker began her 25-year career at Bath & Body Works as a seasonal associate and has since grown into her current role as District Sales Leader.
She credits the company’s values and career development for her long-term success.
Her role allows her to shape both associate and customer experiences across stores.
Anita Walker didn’t start her career at Bath & Body Works with a resume in hand—she started with a shopping bag.
“I got started at Bath & Body Works as a shopper,” Anita recalls with a smile. “I shopped here all the time, and the team actually just came up to me and said, ‘You're a frequent shopper, how would you like to work here?’ And the rest is history.”
That history spans 25 years and a remarkable journey through many roles. Anita began as a seasonal holiday associate, working weekends. Within 60 days, she was recruited for a full-time position. From there, she entered the management and training program, eventually rising to her current role as District Sales Leader in Columbus, Ohio. On her career path with Bath & Body Works, Anita reflects, “Each role sets you up for the next one.”
Her deep experience gives her a unique perspective on the brand and its culture. “The moment I knew Bath & Body Works was going to be my career was how I was treated on my first day, and how I’ve been treated every day since,” Anita shares. “The values here speak to my personal life values... I believe in the consumer. I believe in integrity. And all of those things are woven into our values.”
As a District Sales Leader, Anita’s role is multifaceted. She supports associates, stores, and consumers in every capacity, from hiring and development, to operations and safety. “Safety is number one at Bath & Body Works,” she emphasizes. “I walk stores to ensure our back rooms are clear and safe. I observe consumer interactions and read cues. One of my favorite parts of the role is delivering feedback upward to my leaders. That feedback helps us continually evolve our consumer and associate experience.”
Anita lights up when talking about the holidays. “It’s the best time of the year at Bath & Body Works. Everything is intensified—the fun, the products, the energy. It’s just a great place to work.”
When asked what she’d want potential associates to know, Anita doesn’t hesitate: “Bath & Body Works is the best place to be developed into a leader, and it’s the best place for your career aspirations to really be actualized.” And she leaves us with a powerful reminder: “At Bath & Body Works, everyone belongs.”
